This is my ‘bread and butter’ run. A nice easy run with few hills and little tough running. A stunning area to run round and very easy to extend your run either by taking one of the many up hill footpaths or running round the reservoir above the one I described below (which is pretty much all road/footpath and about double the length)
Start of by parking in the lay-by just before the visitor centre (the lay-by is free and visitor centre is about £4). There is also a bus stop with frequent buses in to Sheffield which stops here too.
From the lay-by there is a footpath which takes you through a wooded area with the reservoir on your left. This is a very simply run, just follow this footpath all the way round always keeping the reservoir on your left.
Eventually you will end up running past the ‘dambuster dam‘ on your right and the visitor centre on your left and back up to the lay by.
